I work in GDM and we have always pride ourselves in being an innovative company, constantly searching for new ways to be ahead of the market. This in turn has helped the company enjoyed a wide range of success; while we win, we also help our clients to win.
GDM is fond of creating the future before it arrives, perfectly aligning with “The best way to predict the future is to create it” mantra. Sometimes we prepare for what we don’t know, and such is the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. The incident came with its characteristic disruption and the company fit in as if we had quietly been rehearsing for that episode.
So, how have we rehearsed for this event?
In mid-2019, GDM introduced “Work Flexi” a freedom package which enables the employees to choose when to resume in the morning and when to close in the evening. This helped reduce stress associated with commuting for our staff, make them happier and also improved productivity.
Not only that, the organization also offered staff the liberty to work virtually for 3 days in every month. So work-from-home trend has been in our DNA far before Covid-19 forced it on us all. These do not only create a work-life balance for employees, it also helped them thrive on and off the job.
Covid-19 also made viral the embrace of Zoom and other virtual meeting platforms. Not for GDM, the company had long embraced Zoom virtual meeting and had progressively reduced physical contact.
GDM has also proven to be a company that practices gender equality. While the world is screaming about gender-balance, GDM has long positioned its women in leadership position; 70% of leadership positions in the company is currently occupied by women. No wonder the company is thriving in the face of global crisis.
And finally, the company is built on nasty speed, resilience and per-second decision-making process, which are the core ingredients that will drive us to the 22nd century.
